job summary:
An Electro-Optical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Glendale, AZ area. This role is a high-frequency technical position responsible for the testing, characterization, and quality validation of RF coaxial connectors and assemblies from the R&D phase through final production and troubleshooting.

responsibilities:

• Execute RF coaxial connector qualification testing according to customer, military, and industry specifications.

• Interface with Design, Product, and Applications Engineering to define electrical, mechanical, and environmental requirements.

• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans for prototype validation and mass production.

• Operate high-frequency equipment including Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Spectrum Analyzers, and Oscilloscopes.

• Perform electrical characterization including calibration, de-embedding, and time-domain analysis up to 100GHz.

• Build and maintain electrical test beds using signal generators, amplifiers, and custom fixtures.

• Conduct mechanical and environmental testing using tensile equipment and temperature/humidity chambers.

• Document test results and author formal qualification reports for customer presentation.

• Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting for customer-facing quality issues and manufacturing defects.

• Support R&D by defining Critical-to-Quality attributes and conducting competitive product analysis.

• Interpret and comply with complex technical documents and Source Control Drawings (SCD).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product outsourcing, transfers, and industry standard development.

Desired Skills:

• Analysis of competitive products -Knowledge of end-user RF market technologies and applications.

• Experience in Equipment Integration and Automation software such as LabView, BenchView, etc.

• Ability to work with hybrid RF/Optical products.

Education and Experience:

• Maintain an Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent military training.

• With a minimum of 3 years of experience.
