We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Fund Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting and financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of investment funds and related family office entities. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of complex investment structures, a proven track record in fund accounting, and strong leadership abilities. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial integrity, compliance, and accurate reporting of our investment activities.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Accounting Operations : Lead the entire fund accounting cycle, including the preparation and review of capital calls, distributions, and investor statements. This involves managing the month-end and year-end closing processes for various funds (e.g., private equity, real estate, hedge funds).
Financial Reporting : Prepare and present financial statements, performance reports, and other key deliverables to partners and stakeholders. Ensure all reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with relevant accounting standards.
Investment Oversight : Oversee the daily accounting for a wide range of investment activities, including complex transactions like fund-of-funds investments, co-investments, and direct asset acquisitions.
Valuation & Reconciliation : Manage the valuation of fund assets and perform detailed reconciliations of cash, investments, and capital accounts to ensure data accuracy.
Compliance and Audit : Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and tax professionals, providing all necessary documentation and explanations. Ensure all fund activities adhere to GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership : Train, mentor, and supervise a team of fund accountants. Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment, conducting performance reviews and supporting professional development.
Family Office Integration : Collaborate with the broader family office team to ensure seamless integration of fund accounting with overall financial management, reporting, and strategic planning.
Qualifications
Education : A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Experience :
Minimum of five years of experience in fund accounting and/or experience working within a family office is required.
At least two years of managerial or supervisory experience is required.
Certifications : A CPA designation is a plus.
