Role:

The Loan Officer I examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for consumer, real estate; ag and commercial lending at some locations, by performing the following duties. Extremely limited credit authority under the guidance of Branch President.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promotes and represents the bank and makes referrals at some locations. Reviews loan requests.
  • Makes credit investigations.
  • Manages own portfolio including collections.
  • Sells credit insurance.
  • Manages dealer contract portfolios at some locations.
  • Manages or assists with credit card program at some locations.
  • Assists with some supervision of employees if directed by the Branch President.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education and/or Experience .
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years banking experience required.
Interpersonal Skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Keep accurate records.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Computer knowledge.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little direct supervision.
  • Ability to handle high volume of work and work closely with lending team.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Lending License.

While performing this job the employee would occasionally be required to carry loads up to and including 24lbs. It is frequently necessary to bend, squat, reach above the shoulder level, crouch, kneel, balance and push/pull equipment. Firm grasping/fine manipulation with the right/left hand is necessary. In an 8-hour day, the employee can expect to sit about 6 hours.
